According to the 2019 IBIS World’s Research and Market Report, there are 24,642 Nursery and Garden Stores.
That’s 24,642 garden center teams striving to create an impact on customers. These teams are everything because they represent your brand, how the business flows, and to serve the customer. These teams are composed of your full time staff, seasonal staff, and those who enter and exist the industry. The individuals on the team often have big personalities too. The way that these teams function, when they come together, makes it a great experience for the customer. During this time of entering the fall season and moving into the winter season, we want to make our team stronger and invest in the individuals on the team to help them evolve into the best individual that they can be. We need to think about what the legacy we are creating for ourselves in the garden center industry.
After such a busy spring season, strengthening and reforming these teams are important. It’s also important to invest and help grow the individuals that work for you. To reform our teams, what we are going to do leading up to the 2020 Spring season is reforming our teams and strengthening the individuals on it. A few key topics that we will see is strengths, communication, and issues that will develop over time.
That’s where I want you to come in. As someone who is reading this post and works in the Garden Center Industry, reach out with your questions and issues on how to build your team up or find resolution in conflict.
